Bulk Bag Adapters
Adapters
FormPak’s line of fork and crane adapters allow for the safe, efficient, and easy handling of SuperSack® by their lift loops. These devices allow an operator to quickly and easily connect the lift loops of the bulk bag to a use-specific adapter (fork, crane, etc.) and lift it for unloading or stacking, and can be made from carbon steel, stainless steel, or aluminum.
Fork Adapters
Fork Adapters allow a single operator or fork driver to attach a bulk bag to the lifting device. The most important advantage of this device is safety (many workers are injured holding the lift loops open for a fork truck.), although a great deal of time can be saved as well. Just place the Adapter over the Super Sack®, and wind the lift loops into the labyrinth hooks. The Adapter also prevents lift loop abrasion, which can be helpful when reusing bulk bags.
Crane Adapters
Crane Adapters make bag pickup a breeze for unloading operations. Not only fast and easy to use, the Adapter pulls straight up on the lift loops (vs. hooking straps or stevedore style straps). This is the FIBCA’s (Flexible Intermediate Bulk Container Association) approved lifting method for bulk bags. SuperSacks®
held this way will remain open and most often, will discharge more efficiently.
The Flying Fork
The Flying Fork is a specialized crane adapter to lift Super Sacks® with Sleeve style Lift Loops. Using chains or lifting straps is not an acceptable lifting method for sleeve style Super Sacks.
The Low Head
The Low Head adapter is a ‘Z’ shaped device, which allows the forks on the truck to remain low so the mast or backrest of the fork truck is no higher than the bag. These devices are typically used to load tall bulk bags without pallets into trucks, but can also be used to stack bags in low ceiling areas. Please consult our engineering dept. if you have interest in this custom device.
We test for free.
- Send us your SuperSack of material for a free unloader test.
- We offer free testing and evaluation of bulk bags in our unloaders.
- When we successfully test your material in our lab, we will guarantee the performance of our equipment for that material.
- All you have to do is send us a full and empty Super Sack to our lab in St. Louis (freight costs to and from our lab are the responsibility of the customer).
- You are encouraged to witness these tests, but we can provide video and photographs as well as a written report of results if your time does not permit
